PKR Releases Software Update

The leading 3D poker room launches its biggest software update ever. It includes several new game locations, smoother 3D graphics and all-in-all more than 50 enhancements.

PKR has dominated the niche of ultra realistic 3D poker for some years. With version 1.7 of its software, the domination can only be reinforced.

Three new game environments have been added: a Chinese theme, an Egyptian theme and an underground wine bar.

The graphics have been improved further, making the games feel more real than ever. It would seem that the players' speaking accents have been improved. Or rather, introduced - they were pretty bad before.

For the rest, most of the game play is left unchanged. You'll find the familiar chip tricks, the same set of camera angles, and the hilarious emotes that can put you on such a hard tilting spree.

With the introduction of rebuy tournaments as well as more and bigger guaranteed tournament prize pools, PKR perks up its poker tournament program, which was already really interesting with its mix of fast and slow tournaments, knockouts, double-ups, and so on.

Despite the improvements, PKR claims that the load time has been shortened. At this writing it's unknown if PKR has fixed the tendency of the poker client to make low-performance computers crash. In a test run on this writer's old laptop, nothing bad happened.

PKR is the closest to live poker you'll get without being there, which is both good and bad - it depends on your preferences.
