Tuesday, Jan 26, 2010 Phil Ivey Has More Gold than Jamie

After Jamie Gold's WSOP Main Event win in 2006 he rocketed the All Time Money Leader Board and has stayed in first position for over three years. Back then no one was close to beating his record-breaking $12,000,000 first prize. However, both Ivey and Negreanu have now surpassed Gold.

Poker Junkie blogger compncards recently announced on our Facebook fan page that Ivey now is the biggest money winner in history of poker  (according to HendonMob Negreanu is in first place, but they haven't tracked the latest tournament results yet.)

It's often said that the all-time money list doesn't say anything about the quality of the players. With a single, well-timed cash finish, a player can reach a top position without having made any other major accomplishments on the tournament circuit. Therefore, we have made a new, improved money list.

If you take the top-20 money finishers and then subtract their biggest win from the total winnings, the list becomes more accurate; at least when comparing poker skills and not just money. In other words, the players on top have proven to be more than just one-hit wonders.

The New All Time Money List
