Monday, Dec 21, 2009 Party Poker Winner Again
The poker part of Party Gaming shows a profit in 2009. This is good news for a site that has suffered big time since the passing of the UIGEA in October 2006.
Party Poker took the poker world by surprise with the purchase of the World Poker Tour earlier this year. Perhaps this loud and clear dedication to poker has helped Party Poker's brand and made the site attractive among the players.
The recent software upgrades have been very successful and certainly contribute to the site's overall popularity as well.
It's clear that the poker department has been showing positive figures lately, and Party Poker contributes to the overall profits of Party Gaming for 2009.
PartyGaming CEO Jim Ryan was very pleased with the positive result of the poker business:
"Returning poker to growth has been a key focus for us," he said.
Ryan also said that changes in the gaming regulations in both France and Italy could lead to a new source of revenue in a near future.
Party Gaming saw its other gaming sites in casino, bingo and sportsbook do really well during the last quarter as well, for a positive and promising 2010.
At this writing, Party Poker is number four on the list of the biggest poker networks, after Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker, and iPoker.
