Wednesday, Aug 27, 2008 Only three tables left in WPT Legends of Poker
A long list of famous pros have been knocked on day three of the WPT Legends of Poker and we're now down to the final three tables.
When day three started 79 players returned to the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. After ten hours of play a long list of players had been knocked out - Gabe Caplan, Kathy Liebert, Antonio Esfandiari, Barry Greenstein, Erik Siedel, Erick Lindgren and Daniel Negreanu, to name a few. Ali Eslami, who was the chip leader after day 1B finished on the bubble (37th place).
The chip leader going in to day four with 956,000 in chips is Paul Smith. He won a large part of his stack in a huge pot after his pocket kings cracked Justin Scott's pocket aces. Amit Makhija is in second place after he doubled up right at the end of the day with a straight against a two pair. Layne Flack had a tough day but managed to finish third.
The achievement of the day was made by Trong Nguyen who started the day dead last with 16,250 in chips but managed to build his stack up to 457,000 chips! Here are the standings going in to day four:
