Monday, Jun 30, 2008 Neighing Scotty Nguyen Wins $50K HORSE
With his A-game and a crazy laughter, Scotty Nguyen broke all resistance in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. Scotty's first win in 2008 WSOP was worth almost $2 million.
When the five remaining players came back from dinner break, Scotty Nguyen put in a whole new gear.
Right from the start, Scotty's constant chitchat and cackling laughing sprees coupled with an aggressive game made life hard for his opponents. He also had a strong support from his friends and colleagues on the gallery. Todd Brunson was rooting for him, and Layne Flack backed Scotty's laughters with loud cries: "Baby, wazz --- up !"
The first opponent to break was Lyle Berman, who was short-stacked and also seemed the least amused by Scotty's jokes.
Nguyen goads Berman to lay his hand down.
And laughs out loud when he does.
Nevertheless, it would take another six hours for Scotty to defeat his last opponent Michael DeMichelle, who had a big chip lead earlier today.
This very prestigious victory brought Scotty Nguyen $1,989,120 in first prize to go with his fifth coveted bracelet. Scotty Nguyen will also be the first name engraved on the Chip Reese memorial Trophy.
Hats off for a great achievement. Tension goes up for the approaching WSOP 2008 Main Event.
