Pros:

This is an excellent book for any beginner, this book will give you valualble information about the poker world and will give you a good understanding of the game. This book is easy to navigate and easy to read.

Cons:

This book is too broad and doesn't go into enough details, this book is not for anyone looking for poker strategy or looking to improve there game.

Additional Information

Poker for dummies is exactly what the title says. This book is reccomended highly for anyone that is new to poker or wants to learn about poker. This book is not in depth at all and is very broad it doesn't go into any real detail about poker strategy or how to improve your game. This book basically gives you a summary of the poker world.

The following topics are covered in the book:

- Poker games such as Seven-Card Stud, Omaha, and Texas Hold'em
- Setting up a game at home
- Playing in a casino: Do's and don'ts
- Improving your play with Internet and video poker
- Deciphering poker sayings and slang
- Ten ways to read your opponent's body language
- Playing in poker tournaments
- Money management and recordkeeping
- Knowing when and how to bluff

Conclusion:

Overall I HIGHLY reccomend this book for anyone new to poker, this book will give you a solid uderstanding of the game and all the elements involved in the game. If you are already a poker player and don't need much more information then this book is pretty useless to you as the topics are too broad and do not go into any details.

I have to say that it is the WORST poker book out there. The same amount of money spent on this book could be spent for any other poker books, except for Phil Hellmuth's Play Like the Pros. LOL. I mean seriously, sure, beginners would learn something, but in comparison to other books they could have bought, it is almost nothing.

Lol i read the book really usless. Not even a beginner would learn anything from this book. A begginer would learn faster by playing some freeroll tourneys on the net. Not worth getting i would think.
