Daniel Negreanu Shares the Realities of Turning Pro
Any of you that have followed my blogs over the years know that I am not always the biggest Daniel Negreanu fan. I have always respected him as a player and for his job as an ambassador but there are times where we butt heads regarding some of his views.
This is not one of those times.
A couple days ago, I wrote an article about how I chose NOT to turn pro and instead took my bankroll and paid off my house.
On Friday, Daniel published an extensive blog that he entitled "A Foolproof Plan to Becoming a Professional Poker Player."
If you haven't read that article, take some time and head over to Full Contact Poker and read it.
It is one thing for me to sit here and tell you my story, but I don't have Daniel's background nor his record in the game.
Sure we've played together in the same events at times, but he's the one with the All-Time Money lead and I am sitting here writing about him.
What he writes isn't exactly earth shattering in terms of information, but he gives it credibility that many of us can't provide.
He's been there, done that, and has his face on the t-shrits.
Poker is a hard game. In my own experiences, I have watched people become successful and then lose it all. I've seen kids come in expecting to set the world on fire and then I see the same kids dealing poker a couple years later.
Read his words and take them to heart. This isn't a game everyone can excel at. Even those that excel at the game don't always excel long-term.
It's a hard way to make an easy living and he spells out just how hard it is.
Why are you still here? Go read his blog!
