Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY) will cosponsor the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act, a legislation introduced by Barney Frank, with the potential of overturning the online gambling ban of the much debated UIGEA.

Nadler voted against the UIGEA when it was put up for vote in the House of Representatives on a late Friday afternoon in October of 2006. It's only consequential that he now sticks together with the representatives in support of the IGREA. With Nadler there are now 48 of them.

A major criticism against the ban on Internet gambling is that it infringes on people's freedom of choice, an issue that goes well with Nadler's job on the Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.

Nadler is in his ninth term as a New York representative (8th congressional district), presently on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure as well as the Judiciary Committee.

Also serving on the subcommittee for Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, Nadler is in an equally strong position when it comes to debating the links of online gambling to terrorism, seeing that UIGEA passed as an attachment to the SAFE Port Act.
