Wednesday, Oct 15, 2008 High Stakes After Dark

The popular NBC TV-show Poker After Dark usually shows pros playing winner-takes-it-all tourneys, but have now copied the format of another popular TV-show - High Stakes Poker. And you guessed it; instead of tournaments the contestants will be playing high-stakes cash games.

Sure the poker world is small, but apart from the format, most of the players have recently appeared in High Stakes Poker. Names like Patrik Antonius, Eli Ezra and Doyle Brunson must be familiar to all High Stakes fans. Sitting down at the table is also the former host of High Stakes Poker himself - Gabe Caplan. The last to players are Howard "the Professor" Lederer and Texan businessman Dee Tiller.

The players will battle it out in a $200-$400 no-limit holdem cash game with a minimum buyin of $100,000. Sounds familiar, anyone? But hey, with this line up of players it will be a hell of a show.

The show is airing 2:05 AM Monday to Saturday at NBC.
