The dates and location of the 2015 WSOP National Championship have been announced while Barry Greenstein defeated Chris Moneymaker in the largest play-money poker tournament in history.
Greenstein Beats Moneymaker to Become Billionaire - In Play Chips
Earlier in the week PokerStars kicked off its first-ever Billionaire Club Championship. The free-money event had the highest play-money buy-in in history at 1 billion play chips.
A field of 31 players entered the event meaning that four players would be paid. Once the money was reached, PokerStars pros Barry Greenstein and Chris Moneymaker were still alive and ultimately faced each other heads up for the title.
In the end, "barryg1" won a race to eliminate "Money 800" to win the title. Greenstein streamed his entire tournament on Twitch.
Greenstein's win earned him 13.95 billion in play chips while Moneymaker earned 9.3 billion.
Since free-money games don't award a tangible prize, the games are open to U.S. players. Americans took advantage of this fact with 24 of 31 players in the field from the USA.
