FTP Claims Soon, One Drop Boon, WCOOP Schedule
With the 2013 WSOP finally in the rear view, the poker world is finally getting back into its normal groove.
PokerStars announced its 2013 WCOOP schedule and a big change to the Main Event. Also, American Full Tilt players may soon be able to file their claims and One Drop donation numbers have been made public.
Full Tilt Claim Process Launch Date Coming Soon
A month ago, American poker players were warned that it may be a year before the claims process would begin.
That all changed when Garden City Group announced earlier this month that the formula for payments has been finalized and the process will begin soon.
Furthermore, according to an email released this week, the launch date could be announced as early as today.
This would mean that American Full Tilt Poker players can file for claims at FullTiltPokerClaims.com and if approved would receive their full balance as of April 15th, 2011. A press release is expected from GCG soon.
$1.3 Million Raised for One Drop Foundation
This past summer two events were played at the 2013 World Series of Poker to benefit One Drop, an organization that strives to provide clean water to areas in need.
Combined, the events raised $1.3 million.
Event #47 was the $111,111 One Drop High Roller Event and 166 players entered the event. Out of the prize pool, $553,000 was donated to One Drop.
Event #58 was the Little One for One Drop, a $1,111 buy-in event. A total of 4,756 players entered that event and another $528,000 went to One Drop.
Guy Laliberte, founder of One Drop, stated in a press released that:
"I am thankful to WSOP for their dedication and to the poker community for their generosity. The real winners are the people for which ONE DROP will provide access to safe water.
"These families can break the cycle of poverty and have hope for a better future. Together we have shown the world once again how giving the poker community is and that the ripple effect continues on."
