Thursday, Jan 15, 2009 Durrrr gives props to his challengers
Who will be playing Tom "durrrr" Dwan first in his Million Dollar Challenge remains to be seen. But he's got great respect for the names that has come up in the discussion so far.
There have been some speculations who will be the first player to face Tom "durrrr" Dwan in his spectacular Million Dollar Heads Up Challenge. The three players that are on the top of the list seem to be David Benyamine, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius. But in a recent interview Dwan said that online high-stakes player Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro also might be interested.
When talking about the challenge Dwan comes across as a humble guy. He says that it doesn't matter who he plays first of Benyamine, Antonius and Ivey and gives all three a lot of props stating:
- I think all of them actually are better overall poker players than me by quite a bit. I happen to think that in this one area I have an edge, and I'll guess we'll see if I do.
In the challenge the players will play at least four tables heads up at the same time and a minimum of 50,000 hands. The game will be either NL Holdem or PLO with blinds of at least $200-$400.
Dwan say that he'll be playing everyone that accepts the challenge as long as he doesn't run really bad and loose to much. So hopefully we'll find out if he has an edge or not.
