Tuesday, Sep 16, 2008 David Rheem Ready for Tough 2008 WSOP Climax
"All the players on the final fable are going to be tough."
According to the latest addition of the World Series of Poker Weekly Newsletter David "Chino" Rheem is preparing for the 2008 WSOP Main Event final table by "travelling playing many poker tournaments."
Rheem is probably the most experienced of the November Nine, but he hasn't cashed in a major tournament since securing his seat at the final table in the Main Event. For example, he got knocked out on the first day of the WPT Borgata Poker Open, which is currently running in Atlantic City.
Not that he needs the money - Rheem has already won $900,670 in the Main Event, and there is a lot more to play for.
"Obviously the biggest change is financial, but the acceptance from peers is a big spirit lifter for me. The strangest thing that has happened to me, I guess, is the added limelight and attention; not that I don't like it, but it's not what I play poker for," said Rheem.
Eight players will be standing in Rheem's way in November, and all of them are strong opponents, according to "Chino".
"I feel that all the players on the Final Table are going to be tough and that it will be a long battle that I am ready to fight for in order to win!"
