Carter King 'ckingusc' Wins 2008 WCOOP
Twenty-two year old Carter King from Columbia, SC, won the $5,000 Main Event of the 2008 WCOOP, defeating almost 2,200 players over two days of play.
After six hours play on Day 2 of the WCOOP Main Event, player ckinguscs was the last player standing.
Carter King wins the WCOOP title, the honor of course, and a lot of cash. With this victory he adds a huge trophy to an already impressive online poker track record featureing a $101,000 sixth place in the FTOPS just a couple of months back, among others.
However, in WCOOP Main Event, King didn't necessarily win the whole first prize of 1.8 million dollars. After 'Sumpas' from Sweden had gone out in sixth place, the remaining players agreed on a five way split (sharing the remaining prize money according to their chip stacks in proportions that everybody can agree on.)
According to Bluff Magazine, King has won a total of $1,964,000 in online tournament poker. On Poker Stars he has played 1020 tournaments with an average 1,313 entrants, cashed in 148 of them and won 11.
Carter King also cashed in the 2008 WSOP, finishing 20 in a $3,500 No-Limit Holdem event in June.
