WSOP Day 12 Update - Bubbles, American Pie, and a Green Lantern Sighting

10k Stud 8 Bustout Hand 200x300
There’s a lot of action going on here at Day 12 of the WSOP. The $5,000 NL Holdem Event kicked off at noon with an all-star type field. I went over to take some pictures of the event and in just the first few tables I got pictures of Hellmuth, Ivey, Negreanu, Obrestad, Ferguson, David Williams, Jason Mercier, and Jennifer Tilly. Also, the $1,500 Six-Handed NL event is in Day 2 and the $10,000 Stud 8 Event is playing down to the final table.

Phil Laak Shatters Record

9 June 2010 , By: Melissa Castello
Phil Laak is known for being outrageous but I don't think that word can really describe what he just did.   Laak played poker for over 115 hours straight at the Bellagio poker room this week. He set out to break the Guinness world record of 72 hours and 2 minutes by Larry Olmsted and the unofficial record by Dave Cain of 74 hours and 12 minutes. Not only did he do that but he set a completely new standard of crazy and played for over 115 hours.

Yan Chen Wins Event 14 200x300
It is yet another late night here at the Rio. The Six-handed NL Holdem event is plugging right along and Day 2 of the $1,000 NL is down to about 13 tables at the time of this writing. Andy Black, Will Failla, and Victor Ramdin are all deep in that one. The NL 2-7 Event just finished with Yan Chen taking the bracelet.

WSOP Day 9 Second Update - Compncards Is a Stud....Player

Brent Carter 226x300
Today I took the day “off” and went downtown to play in the Stud 8 or Better event at the Golden Nugget. Stud 8 is by far my best game and I always feel I have a chance to go deep in any Stud 8 event I play barring my playing bad or some really horrible luck. *Don't You Know Who I Am?* I say this was my “off” day for two reasons. First, this wound up being a 12 hour day for me playing poker.

Well its day 9 (I think) but its my day 2 in Vegas. I ran around today meeting with everyone and trying to catch up with everything thats going on. I checked out my first bracelet ceremony today and here is who won. Ringleader of the V-neck crew, Pascal LeFrancois, 23 of Montreal, was the winner of Event #8 the $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em championship.

WSOP Coverage Day 8 - Second Update - Old School Players, Broke Dealers, and Womenz

5 June 2010 , By: compncards
Dealers Tell Bad Beat Stories too 430x286
Day 8 of the WSOP rolls right along. Event #8 is down to their final table, unfortunately without Phil Hellmuth as he busted out in 15th. The $1,500 Pot-Limit Event is down to three tables and steadily working to the final table. The $10,000 Stud World Championship is down to 43 players and it is highly unlikely they will play to a final table tonight.
