Ivey Money
The Las Vegas Review Journal released a story on Sunday that revealed that Phil Ivey and Andrew Robl had posted $2. 5 million in bail money to attempt the release of Paul and David Phua. The pair had been arrested on July 13th following a FBI raid of a multimillion-dollar sports betting operation at Caesars Palace. A federal judge had ordered that the Phuas post $2 million in bail money and their $48 million Gulfstream jet as collateral.

Phil Wins 10th 430x286
The 2014 World Series of Poker is now concluded until November and this year's series has proven the most successful in history. Back in mid-May, I made my annual WSOP prediction and once again, I cranked out more wins than losses, but just barely. Ivey and Hellmuth Win Bracelets - Daniel Blanks -- Result: 2/3 Credit Selbst Wins Women Make an Impact - Result: Half Credit At Least Two Qualifiers from WSOP. com Make the November Nine --Result: Fail Mixed Game Tournament Set Records - Result: Epic Win Main Event Field = 7,063 - Result - Half Credit.

The New Face for "The Agony of Defeat"

12 July 2014 , By: compncards
Imagine you're on the bubble of the World Series of Poker Main Event with a stack of about 220,000 and you pick up pocket queens. You could sit back and try and cruise into the money, but you're here to win dammit. Time to get some chips. An opponent raises and you call along.

Phil Ivey Wins Bracelet #10 - I Told You So

28 June 2014 , By: compncards
Phil Wins 10th 430x286
Prior to the beginning of the 2014 World Seires of Poker, one of my predictions was that Phil Ivey would win his 10th career bracelet this summer and Daniel would not win a bracelet. Phil Ivey won his 10th career bracelet late last night in the $1,500 Eight-Game Mix. Here's a little tribute video I found on the internet to mark the occasion.

Phil Hellmuth Wins Bracelet #12 and the Fall of #BadJuju

Hellmuth 12 199x300
Phil Hellmuth finally took down his 12th WSOP bracelet last night by winning the $2,500 Razz Event.   This was going down while the "Tiger Woods of Poker", Phil Ivey, was going after his 9th over in the $10k PL Hold'em Event. In the end, Hellmuth continued to add to his career total while Ivey just missed out.   Thinking about it, if Ivey is the "Tiger Woods of Poker", wouldn't that make Hellmuth Jack Nicklaus? Think about it.

What Was Doyle Thinking?

1 22 February 2012 , By: compncards
Doyle and Howard 430x238
I'd really like to know what Doyle Brunson is thinking. I'm sure that many of you by now have read Doyle's recent Blog post but for those of you that haven't, he essentially says while Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson made "terrible mistakes," he doesn't hold any ill-will towards them and thinks they should be welcomed back into the poker community. The fact that Doyle comes out supporting his friends doesn't surprise me. The fact he's doing so now during a time where he should almost expect to take major heat for his words does.

Breaking News - Phil Ivey is Still Good at Poker

28 January 2012 , By: compncards
Ivey Money
Hear that faint crying in the distance? That’s the sound of the collective poker world weeping for their bankrolls as Phil Ivey just proved that he indeed is NOT the Tiger Woods of Golf. Ivey just won the Aussie Millions $250k Super High Roller after taking most of 2011 off. With his $2 Million win, Ivey takes over #2 on the All-Time Money List behind Erik “Can I do another Micros episode so I can win more money” Seidel. I could go the cliché route and talk about how Ivey proved yet again that he is the best poker player of all-time, but Ivey’s bankroll is doing the talking for him.
