ESPN began airing their annual coverage of the World Series of Poker on Tuesday. This year, fans will only be treated to two tournaments, the $1 Million Big One for ONE DROP and the 2014 WSOP Main Event. And yet again I will probably not watch unless it has something to do with my job. (Which probably means I will watch in November.

Michael Mizrachi Wins1
So for the first time in probably three years, I watched a first run episode of the 2010 World Series of Poker on ESPN.  Tonight was the Poker Player's Championship episodes where Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi took down his first every WSOP bracelet. I won't lie.   The main reason I watched was to see if they got some shots of me around the Rio.

As with many players, 2003 was the first time I started seriously watching televised poker. I had watched a couple of Main Event finals in previous years, but the coverage of the game was expanded and enhanced with the addition of hole cards. From that point until 2009, the WSOP coverage on ESPN at least attempted to mix things up and show more than just NL Holdem. However, last year, they decided that they would greatly reduce the number of events covered and focus primarily on the Main Event.
