Nailed 2011 Hall of Fame Voting and 2012 Hall of Fame Predictions

PokerHallOfFame 390x300
I told you so. Today, the World Series of Poker announced that Barry Johnson and Linda Johnson will be the newest inductees into the Poker Hall of Fame. Barry seemed the obvious choice to me. He had the best pedigree of those on the finalist list in regards to overall poker prowess.

Season 7 High Stakes Poker Thoughts

Wake Up Barry 430x282
While I didn't think I would do so, I have watched every episode this season of High Stakes Poker on GSN.   Here are a few of my thoughts on the season so far. 1.   Is it me or does Doyle look like he isn't having any fun in this game?  He seems like he would rather be anywhere than on the show.

Phil Ivey Sucks - Erik Seidel to Win NBC National Heads-Up Title

Seidel National Heads Up 199x300
Things were going pretty well for me until the last bracket last night. The first three brackets saw 5 out of 6 of my picks for the elite 8 advance. Then disaster struck during the spades bracket. Phil Ivey fell to Dan Cates.

Poker Hall of Fame - Top 10 Finalists Announced

1 September 2010 , By: compncards
Phil Ivey
The Poker Hall of Fame has just released the names of the Top 10 finalists that will be voted on by the Hall of Fame committee. I thought I would take a few minutes and go over my thoughts on the 10 finalists. The 10 nominees are: Chris "Jesus" Ferguson Barry Greenstein Dan Harrington Phil Ivey Linda Johnson Tom McEvoy Jennifer Harman-Traniello Daniel Negreanu Scotty Nguyen Erik Seidel The criteria for induction into the Hall of Fame is as follows: A player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition Played for high stakes Played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers Stood the test of time Or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results *Chris "Jesus" Ferguson* *Prediction:* *Barry Greenstein* * * *Prediction:* *Dan Harrington* Harrington on Hold'em* * *Prediction:* *Phil Ivey* *Prediction:* *Linda Johnson* * * *Prediction:* *Tom McEvoy* *Prediction:* *Jennifer Harman-Traniello* *Prediction:* *Daniel Negreanu* *Prediction:* *Scotty Nguyen* *Prediction:* Only a Barry Greenstein induction stops Seidel from going into the Hall of Fame this year. WSOP Day 14 Update #2 - Drunk Singing & A Trickett Wonderland

11 June 2010 , By: Melissa Castello
IMG 0214 400x300
It's been a pretty mellow day at the WSOP today, aside from the rowdy $5k final table. $1,500 PLO and $1,500 7-card Stud both had starts today, $10k 2-7 Lowball is down to 3 tables, $2k limit is down to 2 tables and the $5k NLH is at the final table with the largest rail to date. Sitting in media row we are forced to listen to drunken fools singing a badly butchered version of the Beatles 'Yellow Submarine'. I assume this will only get worse as Jeff Williams acquires more chips and his fans acquire more booze!  We also can hear Sam Tricketts crew, a bunch of drunk Brits whistling tunes after being hushed from singing 'Walking in a Trickett Wonderland'.
