The simplest way is just to look at the traffic stats and you'll instantly get an idea of how players rate each site. The more players you find at a site, the more you can assume they rate it highly.
But the "most visited" site is not exactly the same thing as the "best" site.
To be honest, a poker site can attract players by aggressive advertising or other forms of media exposure. And just because it has a lot of players that doesn't necessarily mean it's superior, quality-wise, to other poker rooms.
Bryan Adams, for example, sells far more records than Ryan Adams. But that surely doesn't mean the The Groover From Vancouver makes better music.
Having said that, the traffic obviously does give an indication of how good a site is.
