In an Absolute Assassin tournament the price money are divided between bounties and the price pool for the players finishing the highest. For each player you knock out you will get a bounty, but you also win money by getting far. This makes it possible for you to win a lot even if you get knocked out early as long as you manage to knock a few others out.
Half of the buyin in a tournament stays on your head and the rest goes to the price pool. If the buyin for example is $10 + 1, $5 will be on your own head and $5 goes to the price pool. So for each player you knock out you will get $5.
Bounty tournaments like this are usually a lot wilder than regular ones. In regular tournaments your objection is to stay in as long as possible and to win it you only have to knock out the last remaining player. But the Absolute Assassin tourney is a different story; your incentives to knock out your opponents are a lot higher. Therefore most players play a lot looser and you'll see lots of all-ins. To become successful in these tournaments you need to be willing to gamble and push your small edges a lot harder.
