Yueqi Zhu earlier today was disqualified from Event #53 of the World Series of Poker.   The event is the $1,500 Limit Holdem Shootout and each table during a round is played to a winner.   In Round 1 action yesterday, Zhu was heads-up on his table and his opponent was down to 6,000 in chips.   Zhu was not feeling well and a deal was struck between the two resulting in the player folding until Zhu was the winner.

Day 34 at the 2010 WSOP is moving right along with final tables in both the $1,000 NL, the $1,500 NL, and the $5,000 PLO.   Robert Mizrachi is in the PLO.   Otherwise, there aren't a lot of big names in the other final tables.  The high profile event of the day is the $25,000 Six-Handed NL Event.

Allen Kessler2 200x300
While some have been going about poker fun at poker’s “lovable nit”, Kessler has turned around and cashed 8 times at this year’s WSOP.   You read that right 8 times. Nikolay Evdakov cashed 10 times in the 2008 World Series of Poker.   That is the current record.

WSOP Commentary - Addressing Others Responses to Tournament of Champions Voting

Brock Parker 200x300
A lot of players, fans, and the “poker media” have been giving their thoughts about selections for the Tournament of Champions and how they think that this player or that player has been slighted and that “there aren’t enough younger champions” etc. *Players That Were "Omitted" Had Not Done Enough* First, this is the WSOP Tournament of Champions. Those that argue a player based on their overall accomplishments are missing the boat on the purpose of this game. It is supposed to be an all-start game for WSOP Champions.

Jennifer Harman2 200x300
This year at the 2010 World Series of Poker has been dubbed with different “Year Of’s. ” I thought it was interesting to see how some of the “big stories” coming into the 2010 WSOP have been developing. *Year of the Woman* Coming into the WSOP, Ty Stewart made the prediction that 2 or 3 women would win open field WSOP events. Mike Matusow stated that if this happened, he would run naked down the strip.

Day 29 at the 2010 WSOP was a relative uneventful one. Two final tables are underway with the HORSE World Championship and the Event #42 $1,500 NL playing to completion tonight. The Mixed Holdem Event is playing to a final table while the $5,000 PLO Hi-Lo and the Event #45 $1,500 NL are in Day 1 action. *Smith and Pilgirm Poised to Make Mixed Holdem Final* The $2,500 Mixed Holdem Event is down to just 11 players and unless they make a monumental blunder and bust out early, both Gavin Smith and Dwyte Pilgrim will make the final table of this event.

WSOP Commentary: Duke - Negreanu Feud Becomes Reheated

2 26 June 2010 , By: compncards
Daniel Negreanu1 430x286
It looks like the Annie Duke and Daniel Negreanu feud has become a little bit reheated. Many know about the incident that happened a few years ago where Daniel made some accusations against Duke that became a heated debate around the poker world. Daniel supposedly found “religion” and then apologized for the comments. *Liebert Speaks “The Truth”* A video posted by Amanda Leatherman on Youtube in recent month saw Kathy Liebert make some comments about the Duke-Negreanu “relationship” in poker that insinuated that he still hated Duke, but was “playing nice” for the sake of his image.
