Event #2 of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe was the £5,250 Pot-Limit Omaha Event.
120 of the best PLO players from around the world converged on the Empire Casino to take their shot at the second bracelet of this series and the top prize of £159,514.
2010 WSOP-E Event 2 winner Jeff Lisandro
After two days, we were down to just 15 players and those 15 returned to play to the final table and then the bracelet. The final table was headlined by Jeff Madsen, Jeff Lisandro, and Chris Bjorin. This was the 2nd final table for this WSOP-E for Bjorin and his 6th career WSOP-E cash. Bjorin is the current leader in total WSOP-E cashes. Below are the final table chip counts:
Seat 1: Jeff Madsen - 273,000
Seat 2: Felipe Ramos - 116,000
Seat 3: Chris Bjorin - 173,000
Seat 4: Andrew Miles - 65,000
Seat 5: Joe Serock - 238,000
Seat 6: John Racener - 280,000
Seat 7: Jeff Kimber - 127,000
Seat 8: Willie Tann - 135,000
Seat 9: Jeff Lisandro - 167,000
Seat 10: Karl Mahrenholz - 235,000
Bjorin would finish 9th in the event and Madsen 4th. Heads-up play was between Joe Serock and Jeff Lisandro. At the start of heads-up play, Serock had nearly a 3 to 1 chip lead over Jeff Lisandro. Lisandro would chip away at the lead and then overtake Serock before losing the lead to Serock.
The turning point of the match came after a pre-flop raising war resulted in Lisandro being all-in with Ks-Kd-2d-5c and behind to the Ad-As-Jh-10h of Serock. However, a king on the flop quickly put Serock in a huge hole and a six on the turn left him drawing dead. Lisandro then held a 3 to 1 chip lead over Serock. Serock was all-in the next hand with Ks-7s-6h-5h and Lisandro called with As-Qs-6s-2c. The flop Jh-9s-8d gave Serock a straight draw, but that is as close as he got. The 2d on the turn gave Lisandro a pair of deuces and the river fell a harmless Js. Lisandro's deuces were good enough to win him the title and his fifth career WSOP bracelet.
This was Lisandro's fourth bracelet win in the last two years. He won three bracelets last year while earning the 2009 WSOP player of the year. This was also his first bracelet in an event other than stud. He has two Stud bracelets, one Razz bracelet, and one Stud Hi-Lo bracelet. In addition to the bracelet, Lisandro received the top prize money of £159,514. Congratulations.
