Not everyone that goes to the 2010 WSOP will be playing in the event.  Every year, thousands of spectators turn out to watch the events and try to watch their favorite pro in action.  For some events, it is nearly impossible to find a lot of the big names due to the massive fields.  So in this article, I am going to give you a fans guide of which events to come out and watch at the 2010 WSOP.

$50,000 Poker Player's Championship

This event will kick off on the 28th and will be easily the toughest overall field of the entire WSOP.  Since it is the first event, and a televised one as well, expect most of the big names to be out to play this event.  The event will start at 5 P.M. and will run until around 2 A.M.  Players will start with 150,000 in chips each so there will be a lot of play in this event.

NL 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship

On June 9th, the $10,000 2-7 Lowball Championship will kick off.  Now, I know you are thinking "Why do I want to go to the WSOP just to watch lowball.  What the heck is lowball?"  Lowball is a form of 5 Card Draw where the worst hand wins.  It is not as popular as it was in the past due to the explosion of Holdem.  However, it is very popular with the pros, and as a result, this will be a great event to rail in order to watch the pros.

$10,000 Heads-Up Championship

On June 18th, the $10,000 NL Holdem Heads-Up Championship will kick off.  This will be an elite field with a 256 player cap.  Since this is a heads up format, the tables will not be as full and you will be able to watch and get glimpses of your favorite pros.

$10,000 HORSE Championship

On June 23rd, the HORSE Championship will kick off.  Much like the $50,000 Player's Championship, this event will have an elite field.  It may prove to be a larger field due to being a 10k event as opposed to a 50k event.  There should be many stacked tables.

Tournament of Champions

On June 27th, a 27 player event will serve at the WSOP All-Star Game.  This will be your chance to see many big names in action as they try and work their way to the final table and a shot at $500,000.  Names that are already in are Mike Sexton, Mike Matusow, Annie Duke, Joe Cada, and Jeff Shulman.  Hellmuth, Brunson, and Chan are locks to be in it as well.

WSOP Main Event

I put the Main Event at the bottom of the list due to the massive size of the event.  The 2010 WSOP Main Event kicks off on July 5th and each day big names will be scattered through the tournament rooms.  Of course, unless you come all four Day 1's, you may not get to see your favorite player.  At the same time, there is nothing like the Main Event and everyone should at least go check it out once.

As you noticed, most of the above events are mixed games or non-Holdem games.  The reality of poker is that the smaller non-Holdem events are much more conducive for pros winning bracelets.  As a result, they will be the events you will likely see your favorite players.   That isn't to say you can't find them playing NL Holdem, but the above events are your best shot at seeing the players you dream about meeting.
