Thursday, Jun 11, 2009 2009 WSOP - Brock Parker Strikes Again - Wins Event 19, $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed
Brock Parker is the king of six-handed Texas Hold'em. The 27-year-old online pro from Silver Spring, MD has won two bracelets in short-handed Hold'em tournaments in the 2009 WSOP.
First, he defeated Daniel Negreanu heads-up to win Event 14, $2,500 Limit Hold Six-Handed, and he followed that up by winning Event 19, $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed.
"I can't describe this. This is just unreal. It actually does not feel real to me," Parker, who received $552 745 in prize money, said after the tournament.

Parker first started playing poker about ten years ago. He is now a professional player, known as "tsoprano" online, and short-handed games are his preferred playing form.
"I like to play more hands. Playing nine-handed is pretty boring. I guess Six-Handed gets more motivated because I get to play in a lot of pots."
Thanks to his short-handed skills, Parker has made it big time on the live scene as well, and he thinks his win Event 14 helped him take another WSOP title.
"I don't know if people are afraid, but they think I'm running good. They want to say out of my way and that helps with my confidence and lets me pull off things I might not (otherwise) pull. I get to go with my gut a little bit more."
Brock Parker is definitely hungry for more.
"I'm excited for 'Player of the Year.' I want to try for that, for sure. Especially now that they are making a big deal out of it."
"I'm probably going to play the next tournament. I can't 'not' do it, especially now."
