John "Razor" Phan has been named Player of the Year 2008 by three authorities: Card Player, Bluff Magazine and Poker Junkie.
With more than $2 million in tournament winnings in 2008, two WSOP bracelets and a WPT win, John Phan certainly is a worthy winner of the 2009 Player of the Year trophy.
Card Player, Bluff Magazine and Poker Junkie all agree on this.
Last year's Player of the Year was David "the Dragon" Pham.
First it was Pham, then came Phan. If this trend holds, next year's Player of the Year could be a guy called Joe Pharo.
Joe Pharo is from Arizona. He's got six WSOP cashes and total winnings of $76,000, according to thehendonmob.com.
Why not put down a bet on Myles Phago from England as a banker. So far, Phago's total tournament winnings stay at $32,000. A respectable start.
